Kids say the darndest things...

Kids... aww really what is there to say about them. Well let's see, tons. From they are the best part of your world to oh my goodness someone please give me some duct tape these kids are driving me insane. If you are a mom you have been there at some point in time and if you haven't yet, well just wait it is coming lol or wait it is actually cimh (chuckle in my head). Well my kids also have those moments were they just say something and you can't help but bust out laughing. This has happened so many times and I wish I could remember all of their little lines but I do remember a few.

Last night Renae made us laugh with her words. We were grilling out burgers and Justin was going in and out and a bug, I call them skeeter eaters, they look like giant mosquitos flew in the house. I hear Renae screaming and turn around to see Justin hopping around like a crazy person so I come to see what all the commotion is about. Justin proceeds to tell me it was a bug and he walks away to wash his hands. I ask him if he killed it cause I don't see it on the floor and he happens to check the bottom of his shoe and there it is  (ewwww). Well Renae tells us, "That bug was chasing me mommy it wanted to eat me." You might had to be here but we found it hilarious.

Renae's newest thing though is to tell me randomly that someone is going to die. The first time she did it the conversation went as follows

Renae "Mommy you are going to die soon!"

Me "I hope not, what makes you think I am going to die?"

Renae "Because you are getting old mommy"

Now please try to contain your laughing, hey I said no laughing ;) ... So I proceeded to tell her I am not that old and I hope I don't die soon. She has repeated this conversation with me throwing Grandma and Nannie under the bus as well because they are older then me so they must be getting old too. I have tried to explain to her that old age is not the only cause of death but in her short little life all the death she has had to deal with was due to old age.

Yet another line Renae decided to throw at me was this "Mommy when are you going to get skinny like me so you are not fat anymore." Again with the laughing... or the soft hearted might be going awww thats not nice or a combination of laughing while thinking thats not nice. In her defense though I do complain about my weight in front of her and we talk about how skinny they are so I did create that monster.

One of my favorite and probably not an appropriate term for a4 year old went down like this... about 10 months ago we are all sitting in the playroom and Renae is scratching her private area and I tell her to quit scratching her crotch. With this quizzical expression Renae quietly asks "whats a crotch?" For some reason this cracked Justin and I up and still does whenever I think of it.

On another crotch related story Justin and Renae were bantering back and forth about something and Justin jokingly threatened to kick Renae in the face and she quickly replied "well I will kick you in the crotch." cimh (any men reading this probably just flinched ;) lol) ... At that point I did speak up and tell her we don't kick daddy or anyone for that matter there... but it was still funny.

But I will sum it up with that and I have successfully written my second blog and enlightened you a little to the mind of my 4 year old. If I can think of more Renae lines I will start writing them down and make another blog.  She is such a big hearted loving little girl but she often sticks her foot in her mouth with her attempt at logic. But she keeps me on my toes and keeps me laughing all the time.  Thanks for reading...
